Why the pre-filled message matters
An empty chat window makes people close the app. A message already sitting in the box makes them press send.

How the number should be typed

Make your WhatsApp QR
- 1. Type your WhatsApp number.
- 2. Write the message you want the customer to send you. Keep it under two lines.
- 3. Add a caption like "Order on WhatsApp" so people know what the square is for.
- 4. Download the PNG and print it, or share the image on your status and your Instagram bio.
- 5. Scan it from a phone that does not have your number saved. That is the real test.
Where a WhatsApp QR earns its place

Common questions
- Does the customer need to save my number?
- No. That is the whole point. The wa.me link opens the chat directly, saved or not.
- Does this work with WhatsApp Business?
- Yes. WhatsApp Business uses the same wa.me links. If your business number is different from your personal one, put the business number in.
- How is this different from the QR inside WhatsApp?
- The one inside WhatsApp adds you as a contact. This one opens a chat with a message ready to send. For a shop, the second one gets more replies.
- Can I change the pre-filled message later?
- Not on a printed code. Keep the message general, like "Hi, I want to order", so it stays right through the year.
- Will my number be visible to anyone who scans?
- Yes. A WhatsApp QR is a public way to reach you, the same as printing your number on a board. Use a business number if you do not want your personal one out.
