Point at the page, not the home page

Most people generate a QR for their home page and then expect a visitor to find their way. That wastes the scan.

• • Running an offer? Point at the offer page.
• • Hiring? Point at the job form, not the careers landing page.
• • Selling one product? Point at that product page.
• • Collecting feedback? Point at the form itself.
• • Only when you genuinely want a general visit should the code open the home page.

Short links make better looking codes

The longer the text inside a QR, the more little squares it needs, and the denser it looks. A dense code needs to be printed bigger to scan reliably.

3. 3. Check the preview and read the link shown under it. Make sure it is the exact page you meant.
4. 4. Download the 1024 px PNG for print or the 2048 px one for large format.
5. 5. Open the printed code with your own phone and confirm the page loads on mobile data, not only on office Wi-Fi.

Check the page works on a phone first

• • Almost every QR scan happens on a phone. If your site is hard to read on a small screen, the scan is wasted.
• • Make sure the phone number on the page is tappable.
• • Make sure the page loads in under five seconds on a normal mobile connection.
• • Avoid landing pages that open a popup before showing anything.

Common questions

Does the QR code stop working if I stop using this site?

No. There is no redirect through us. The pattern holds your address directly, so it works as long as your website works.

Can I track how many people scan it?

Not with this plain code, because we do not sit in the middle. If you want counts, point the code at a link that your own analytics already measure, or add a tracking parameter to the address before you generate.

Should I use a short link inside the QR?

Only if your address is very long. A short link makes a cleaner code, but it adds a service that could shut down later. A plain address is safer.

Can I change the colour of the code?

This tool makes black on white, which scans most reliably. Coloured codes look nice and fail more often, especially on cheap printing.

My link has spaces or Hindi characters. Will it work?

Yes, but check the preview. Copy the address from your browser address bar rather than typing it, so the encoding is right.
