Uniqode is a capable product with a real strength behind it. The company is a QR code platform first, and that shows in how well the QR side is handled. If QR codes are the centre of what you are doing, it is a reasonable place to be.
The reason people search for alternatives is usually the billing shape rather than the software. Everything below was read off the Uniqode pricing page on July 31, 2026.
What Uniqode publishes for digital business cards
| Free | $0. Create your first digital business card with essential features. The page notes cards stay accessible while the account is active. |
|---|---|
| Team | $6 per user per month, billed annually. |
| Business+ | Custom pricing, billed annually, with advanced security and controls. |
| Billing note | The page states no monthly plans are offered, and that an annual subscription cannot be changed to monthly. |
| Refunds | A 30 day money-back guarantee is stated on the page. |
All figures are in US dollars. No rupee pricing is published on that page.
Why annual only is a bigger deal in India
For a salaried buyer with a company card, an annual plan is a nuisance. For a small Indian business, it is a different kind of decision entirely.
- • Cash flow is seasonal. A caterer, a photographer and a tailoring shop all earn most of their year in a few months.
- • Twelve months of a per user price in dollars is a number you commit to before you know whether the tool sticks.
- • Team size moves. Paying a year in advance for five seats when two people leave in March is money spent on nothing.
- • A yearly commitment in a foreign currency carries exchange risk you cannot control.
The 30 day money-back guarantee softens this, and it is fair to say so. It covers the first month. It does not cover month seven, when your team changed shape.
Where Uniqode is better than what we build
- • QR codes as a whole platform, with far more depth than a card product needs.
- • Enterprise identity controls, including Microsoft Entra ID on the higher plan.
- • Invoice billing, which some Indian companies genuinely need for procurement.
- • A published refund window, which is more than most products in this category offer.
If your organisation is putting QR codes on packaging, campaigns and physical assets as well as cards, the card product being part of a bigger QR platform is an advantage, not an accident.
The alternatives, with their billing shapes
| Ahoyy | Free card, free QR code, free WhatsApp sharing. Monthly plans at ₹299 and ₹799, and a ₹199 top up for 25 directory reveals. Rupee billing, no annual commitment required. |
|---|---|
| Blinq | Free with two cards. Premium $9.99 monthly or $7.33 a month billed annually. Business $6.99 per card monthly or $4.99 billed annually, minimum five team cards. Monthly is available. |
| HiHello | Free with four cards and five scans a month. Professional $6 monthly or $72 yearly. Business $5 per user monthly or $60 per user yearly. Monthly is available. |
| Popl | No published prices. Custom quote after a call. |
| Mobilo | One time hardware purchase. On sale on 31 July 2026 from $5.00 for a branded card to $20.00 for metal, against regular prices of $19.99 to $139. Each includes 90 days of Pro. Pro is $3.00 a month after that. |
Ask what happens in month seven, not month one. Every product looks reasonable in the trial window.
Monthly, in rupees, with the card and the QR code free. Stop whenever you want.
See Ahoyy pricingThe question nobody asks until it is too late
If a card stops working when a subscription lapses, everything you printed the QR code on stops working with it. Shutters, boards, receipt books, packaging, the sticker inside a customer meter cupboard.
Before you build anything physical on a card link, ask the product two direct questions.
- 1. If I stop paying, does my card page stay up in some reduced form, or does it go away.
- 2. If I stop paying, does my QR code still resolve to anything at all.
- 3. Can I export my contacts, and in what format.
- 4. Does the link stay the same if I change my number, my address or my plan.
These are fair questions to put to any vendor, us included. On Ahoyy the card, the page and the QR code are on the free tier, so the printed sticker keeps working whether or not you ever pay for anything.
It is worth being precise about what is being compared here. The Uniqode free plan does give you a first card at no cost, and the page says cards stay accessible while the account is active. That is a normal arrangement. The point is not that it is unusual, it is that you should know the answer before you put a QR code on a shop shutter.
The same logic applies to the link itself. Any card link lives on somebody domain, ours included. Ask how long the link lasts, what happens to it if you leave, and whether you can point people somewhere else afterwards. A vendor that answers those three clearly is a vendor you can plan around.
The short version
Uniqode is a strong choice if QR codes are a company wide thing for you and an annual contract in dollars is normal in your procurement.
If you want to pay by the month in rupees, keep your printed QR working without a subscription, and start today without a purchase order, look at a smaller product. Ahoyy is one, and it is newer than Uniqode with a shorter track record, which is worth knowing before you choose.
