Visiting card maker

The brands you handle matter more than the design

A customer with a dead washing machine has one question in their head: does this person handle my brand. Answer it on the card and you get the call.

The other thing repair customers want is a warranty. Even thirty days on the work you did is a reason to pick your card over the one next to it.

Fill in your details and watch the card change

Drawing your card...

Optional. JPG, PNG or WebP. It is fitted into the corner at its own shape, so a wide logo stays wide.

The card is 3.5 x 2 inches, the normal Indian visiting card size. 1050 x 600 is 300 dpi, which every press accepts. Ask the printer to keep 3 mm bleed on all sides.

Make this permanent

Paper runs out and numbers change. An Ahoyy card is the same card, on a link you can edit.

What repair customers look for

  • The appliances you fix, named one by one: AC, fridge, washing machine, inverter, mobile, laptop.
  • Brands you are comfortable with. This is the single most useful line on a repair card.
  • Whether you do home visits or only workshop work.
  • Your warranty on repairs, in days. Even a short one beats none.
  • Whether you supply genuine parts. Say it only if it is true.
  • A visit or inspection charge, so nobody expects a free look.

Repair trades and where the cards go

ElectricianMeter boxes, society offices, new construction sites.
AC and fridge mechanicA sticker on the outdoor unit. Next summer that sticker rings your phone.
Washing machine and applianceInside the machine door and with electronics dealers.
Mobile repairInside the phone box, and with mobile accessory shops.
Laptop and computerCyber cafes, coaching classes, small offices.
Inverter and batteryHousing societies, especially before monsoon.

Make your repair card

  1. 1. Put your shop or service name and your own name.
  2. 2. In the services line, list appliances first, then brands if there is room.
  3. 3. Use the one-line field for your warranty promise, like "30 day warranty on all repairs".
  4. 4. Put the QR on the card so the customer saves you the moment you finish the job.
  5. 5. Print on sticker paper too. In repair work, the sticker on the machine is worth more than the card.

The sticker trick that outperforms the card

A visiting card sits in a drawer. A sticker sits on the machine that will break again.

Print the same design at 5 x 3 cm on vinyl sticker paper and put one on every unit you service. When the fault returns in eighteen months, your number is right there on the machine and nobody looks for another mechanic.

Common questions

Should I list every brand I can fix?
List the four or five that people actually own in your area. A list of twenty looks like a claim rather than a skill.
Is it worth printing a warranty on the card?
Yes, if you intend to honour it. A thirty day warranty on labour costs you very little and removes the customer main worry.
Should I put a photo of myself on a repair card?
It helps for home visits, because a face makes a stranger easier to let in. This tool keeps the card text based, and you can add your photo to the page behind the QR.
My workshop address is hard to find. What do I do?
Print the landmark, not the plot number. Then make a location QR and put that link on the page behind your card QR.
Can I make separate cards for AC work and mobile repair?
Yes, and you should if the two go to different customers. Make the card twice with different service lines and print smaller runs of each.
