Visiting card maker

People call the card that is closest, not the best one

A tap is leaking at nine at night. Nobody opens an app. They look for the card they were handed after the last job. Your whole business depends on that card being findable.

Which means two things: hand out more than one card per job, and make sure the card says exactly what you fix so people do not have to remember.

Fill in your details and watch the card change

Drawing your card...

Optional. JPG, PNG or WebP. It is fitted into the corner at its own shape, so a wide logo stays wide.

The card is 3.5 x 2 inches, the normal Indian visiting card size. 1050 x 600 is 300 dpi, which every press accepts. Ask the printer to keep 3 mm bleed on all sides.

Make this permanent

Paper runs out and numbers change. An Ahoyy card is the same card, on a link you can edit.

What to put on a home service card

  • The trade word people search with: plumber, carpenter, painter, pest control. Not "solutions".
  • Three to five specific jobs, like tap leak, drainage, bathroom fitting.
  • Your service area by locality name. People will not call someone from across the city.
  • Whether you work on Sunday and whether you take emergency calls.
  • One number. If you also want WhatsApp, say so.
  • Years of experience, if it is more than five. It is the strongest trust line you have.

Handing them out so they multiply

Two cards per jobOne for the customer, one to pass to a neighbour. Say that out loud.
Under the doorIn the same building where you just worked. They saw your bike outside.
Society watchmanGuards get asked "know a plumber?" more than anyone.
Hardware shopsLeave a small stack. The shopkeeper is asked daily.
Sticker versionPut a sticker on the geyser, the pump or the meter box you serviced.
Society WhatsApp groupsAsk the customer you just helped to share your card there.

Make your home service card

  1. 1. Put your trade in the business name or the one-line field. "Ravi Plumbing Works" is better than "Ravi Services".
  2. 2. List your actual jobs in the services line. Be specific.
  3. 3. Write your area in the address field, not your full house address.
  4. 4. Keep the QR on. A customer who scans it has your number saved before you leave the house.
  5. 5. Download the print file and get 1000 printed. This trade runs on volume of cards.

The line that gets you called back

Most home service cards say the trade and the number and nothing else. Add one line that answers the fear the customer has.

For a plumber: "No charge if the leak comes back in 7 days." For a painter: "We cover your furniture." For a pest control worker: "Child and pet safe." One honest promise you can keep beats any design.

Common questions

Should I print my rate on the card?
Print a visit charge if you have a fixed one, because it stops time-waster calls. Job rates change with the work, so leave those off.
Is it better to print my name or a business name?
Print both. People remember the person who fixed their tap, and the business name makes you look established.
How do I fit five services on such a small card?
Use one line with commas, not a list. Five short words fit. Anything longer belongs on the page behind the QR.
Do I need an email address on the card?
No. Almost nobody emails a plumber. The space is better used for your service area.
Can I use the same card for my helpers?
You can, but a card with the helper own name gets better results. Make one card per person with the same business name on top.

Photos of your finished work close the deal
