QR code generator

Happy customers will leave a review. They will not go hunting for the button.

This code skips every step in between. The customer scans, and the star rating box for your business opens right there. No searching your name, no scrolling past the map, no giving up.

Reviews are the cheapest thing that moves a local business up in search. The only real barrier is how many taps it takes, and this removes almost all of them.

Your Google Place ID

Find it with the free Google "Place ID Finder" page. It usually starts with ChIJ.

Fill the form and your QR code shows up here.

1024 px is fine for a visiting card or a menu. 2048 px is for a shutter poster or a flex board.

Make this permanent

Scan your own code once before printing. It should open the star rating box, not a search page.

How to find your Google Place ID

A Place ID is Google own name for your listing. It usually starts with ChIJ and looks like a long jumble of letters.

  1. 1. Search the web for "Google Place ID Finder". It is a free page run by Google itself.
  2. 2. Type your business name and area in the search box on that page.
  3. 3. Pick your business from the suggestions. The map pin moves to it.
  4. 4. Copy the Place ID that appears in the little box on the pin.
  5. 5. Paste it into the form on this page.

Asking without being annoying

  • Ask right after the good moment. The haircut is done and they like it. That is the minute.
  • Say it out loud once: "If you liked it, a review really helps us." A card alone gets ignored.
  • Never offer a discount for a review. Google removes paid reviews and can penalise the listing.
  • Do not ask everyone the same week. A sudden burst of reviews looks fake to Google.
  • Reply to every review you get, even the short ones. Replies show the listing is alive.

Where to put the review code

On the bill or receiptThe single best spot. They are already holding it.
A small table cardFor salons, clinics and cafes where people wait.
Delivery packet stickerReaches the customer at home, when they are relaxed.
Near the exit doorThe last thing they see on the way out.
Staff visiting cardA named person gets more reviews than a nameless shop.

Make the review QR

  1. 1. Type your business name so it prints under the code.
  2. 2. Paste the Place ID. If you paste a whole link that contains place_id, we pull the ID out of it.
  3. 3. Check the preview by scanning it yourself. The Google review box for your business should open.
  4. 4. Download the 1024 px PNG and print it on a small card or on your bill pad.

Common questions

Do I need a Google Business Profile for this?
Yes. Your business has to exist on Google Maps before anyone can review it. If it is not there, claim or add the listing first, then come back for the Place ID.
Does the customer need to be signed in to Google?
Yes. Google requires a signed-in account to post a review. Most people on Android already are.
Can I use this to collect only good reviews?
No, and you should not try. Filtering out unhappy customers before they reach Google is against the rules and can get your listing penalised. Ask everyone, and fix what the bad reviews tell you.
The Place ID Finder shows two entries for my shop. Which one?
Pick the one whose address and phone match yours. If both are really yours, that is a duplicate listing and you should ask Google to merge them.
Will the code break if I move my shop?
Usually not. The Place ID stays with the listing even after you change the address, as long as you edit the same listing instead of creating a new one.

Reviews build trust. A page turns that trust into a call.
