Visiting card maker
Every wedding you work at is full of people planning the next one
You are already standing in a room full of your next customers. Aunties comparing decorators, cousins asking who did the lights, a family two months away from their own function.
The only thing that turns that room into bookings is a card in every hand before the evening ends. Carry a hundred to every event.
Fill in your details and watch the card change
Drawing your card...
Optional. JPG, PNG or WebP. It is fitted into the corner at its own shape, so a wide logo stays wide.
The card is 3.5 x 2 inches, the normal Indian visiting card size. 1050 x 600 is 300 dpi, which every press accepts. Ask the printer to keep 3 mm bleed on all sides.
Paper runs out and numbers change. An Ahoyy card is the same card, on a link you can edit.
What an event card has to do
- • Say your service in one word people use: photography, decoration, DJ, catering, tent, planner.
- • Say the occasions you cover: wedding, engagement, birthday, corporate.
- • Give a starting package price if you can. Families budget before they call.
- • Say how far you travel. Outstation work is a normal question in this trade.
- • Show your Instagram, because this is a trade where the portfolio decides.
- • Mention advance booking, since good dates go months early.
Event trades and where cards land
| Wedding photographer | To every family at the function, not only to the couple. |
|---|---|
| Decorator and florist | With banquet halls and marriage hall managers. |
| DJ and sound | With decorators and event planners. You get booked together. |
| Tent house | Housing societies and community halls, before festival season. |
| Event planner | Corporate offices and HR teams for annual functions. |
| Caterer for events | With the hall, since the hall recommends a shortlist. |
Make your event services card
- 1. Put your studio or company name and your own name.
- 2. Write the occasions you cover in the services line.
- 3. Use the one-line field for the strongest thing you offer, like "Same day edited photos".
- 4. Add Instagram or your portfolio link in the website field.
- 5. Print a large run. In this trade you give out cards by the handful, not one at a time.
Get referred by the people who book before you
Every wedding has an order. The hall gets booked, then the caterer, then the decorator, then the photographer, then the DJ.
Leave your cards with everyone earlier in that chain. A hall manager who likes you sends work all year, and it costs you nothing but a stack of cards and being easy to work with.
Common questions
- Should I print package prices on the card?
- Print a starting price if you have one. It filters out families whose budget will never match, which saves both sides a long call.
- Is Instagram enough, or do I need a website?
- Instagram is enough to start. Just make sure the account is public, or the card sends people to a follow request instead of your work.
- How many cards should I carry to a wedding?
- A hundred is not too many. A wedding is the single best place to hand out cards for this trade.
- Should the card say wedding only?
- Only if you turn down other work. Birthdays and corporate events fill the months when there are no wedding dates.
- Do I need a photo of my work on the card?
- A tiny photo on a 3.5 inch card does your work no favours. Use the QR to send them to a full gallery instead.
A card cannot hold a gallery. A link can.
