The last four lines of your email are doing more work than you think

Fill in the form and the signature builds itself as you type. Press Copy signature, paste it into your mail settings, and you are done. There is no account, no watermark and nothing of ours hidden inside it.

It uses plain table HTML with the styles written inline, which is the boring old way and also the only way Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail all render the same.

A signature only helps people already emailing you. An Ahoyy card link works on WhatsApp too, and you can edit it after you send it.

Put it into Gmail

  1. 1. Fill the form on this page and press Copy signature.
  2. 2. Open Gmail on a computer, click the gear icon, then See all settings.
  3. 3. Scroll down the General tab to the Signature section and press Create new.
  4. 4. Give it a name, click into the big box, and paste with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
  5. 5. Under Signature defaults, choose it for new mails and for replies.
  6. 6. Scroll to the bottom and press Save Changes. Gmail does not save on its own.

Put it into Outlook and Apple Mail

Outlook on the webSettings, then Mail, then Compose and reply. Paste into the signature box and save.
Outlook desktopFile, Options, Mail, Signatures. Paste into the edit box. If pasting looks broken, use Copy HTML code and paste that into a .htm file instead.
Apple Mail on MacMail, Settings, Signatures. Untick "Always match my default message font" first, then paste.
Gmail on a phoneThe mobile app only supports plain text. Set the signature on a computer and it is used on the phone as well when you send from the web version.
Any other clientUse the Copy HTML code button and paste the code where the client asks for HTML.

What makes a signature good

  • Four to six lines. Anything longer gets cut off and shown as a "..." in Gmail.
  • One phone number, not three. Pick the one you actually answer.
  • No image logo. Most mail apps block images by default, so a logo often shows as a broken box.
  • No social icons row. They are images, so the same blocking problem applies, and nobody clicks them from an email.
  • One colour, used for your name and your link. Two colours look like a template.
  • Skip the long legal disclaimer unless a lawyer told you to add it.
  • Skip motivational quotes and "please consider the environment before printing".

Why there are no images in this signature

Every image in a signature has to be hosted somewhere. If that host goes down, or the reader has images turned off, your signature turns into empty boxes. Corporate mail systems block outside images by default.

The other reason is tracking. Many free signature tools quietly host the logo on their own server, so they can count every time your email is opened. We do not add an image, so there is nothing to track and nothing to break.

Add a WhatsApp link, not a WhatsApp number

A number in text means the reader has to save it, open WhatsApp and search. A wa.me link opens the chat directly, even from a laptop.

Put your WhatsApp number in the field above and the signature adds that link for you.

Common questions

Is this email signature generator free?
Yes. No account, no email address, no trial. Nothing you type here is sent to a server.
Does it put a watermark or a "created with" line in my signature?
No. What you see in the preview is exactly what gets copied. Press Show the HTML code and read it yourself.
Will the signature look right on a phone?
Yes. It uses a simple one-column table, so it stays readable on a narrow screen instead of forcing sideways scrolling.
The paste into Outlook looks broken. What do I do?
Outlook desktop is fussy about pasted HTML. Use the Copy HTML code button, paste it into Notepad, save the file with a .htm ending, and put that file in the Outlook signatures folder.
Can I add my company logo?
Not with this tool, on purpose. Logos in signatures need a hosted image, and most mail apps block outside images, so the logo shows as an empty box more often than you would like.
Can I add a link to my card or my rate list?
Yes. Use the button fields at the bottom of the form. Put your label in one and your link in the other and a proper button appears in the signature.

A signature only reaches people who email you

Most customers in India come through WhatsApp. An Ahoyy card is one link that works in both places.
